Alive

It is not as complex as an emotion,
And not as simple as a state of being.

Yet it is something greater than both,
Neither explained by science and logic,
Nor described by religion or spiritualism.

It seeps into our very selves,
Flooding our deepest corners,

From our heart that beats as we stand on the edge of a precipice,
To our eyes that rain hot tears down our cold cheeks,
While the music fills our imagination,
And the sky colours our rumination.

We feel it, and we have never been so alive.
